Stephanie was very sensitive to us and understanding about our concerns about a close shave, even with a considerable amount of matting in his hair. Stephanie was accommodating, right on time and extremely kind and professional. She came in her fully decked out grooming van, making it super simple. My very skittish Shiba Inu absolutely loved Steph and her daughter. I was so happy because my Shiba has had terrible grooming experiences before and was terrified of groomers. But, Steph was super calm and comforting and my Shiba really loved the experience. She smells and looks amazing and we can’t wait to have Steph back for the next appointment. My experience with Hairy Pawter's was Magical. Everything from the initial phone call, to after the grooming was 10/10. Stephanie not only squeezed Ollie in to her schedule, she also provided excellent customer service, answered all my questions, and did an exceptional job grooming him (ALL IN MY DRIVEWAY). - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Prices are mainly based on time, and not on the size or breed of your dog. A well behaved, shihtsu in good condition would be less than a matted dog of the same breed. Once your dog is in good shape, if you maintain regular appointments, the price is lower as I offer a 5.00 discount per dog with rebookings within 8 weeks for short haired and 6 weeks for long haired dogs. I live in Rockland county and do travel across both the Bear Mountain and TAPPAN ZEE bridge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?New customers are consulted about their dogs behavior and coat. I go over any lumps and bumps, behavioral issues, and what kind of haircut would be best.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I attend yearly seminars and classes in New Jersey to keep up with my industry. I was trained in an apprenticeship 17 years ago at a grooming shop.
