Hi and welcome! My name is Kunal Gala, and I am a composer, percussionist and teacher based in NYC and am passionate about sharing my love of music. I believe in taking a holistic approach to music theory and composition, being sure to always incorporate the repertoire and historical context of the subject on hand, while also striving to maintain a direct and practical teaching style when introducing new concepts.

I holds degrees in composition and conducting from the Juilliard School and Berklee College of Music and studied Hindustani classical music as a child. In addition to classical percussion, I have experience with jazz drum set, drum and bugle corps, and musical theater.
