Introduction: Do it once. Do it right. I am a NYS licensed home inspector. As part of our duties, if we suspect any type of mold or mildew, we note it down in our report, but since we are not required to perform tests (unless mold certified), we generally indicate some type of infestation without specifically using the word "mold". I charge between $350 to $400 per home as a base, and maybe slightly more depending on the size of the house. I am a member of ASHI, InterNACHI and HIF.
