FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with a phone conversation (or an in-person meeting, if that is easier) so the couple get a sense of my style and determine if I am the right fit for them. This is also when I invite couples to more specifically identify their needs, and share with them my own thoughts about how to make their wedding special and meaningful. Assuming they are interested in working together, we determine what to do next. In some cases, we plan for additional calls or meetings for further discussion. Other times, we are able to finalize the details on the same call and we then see each other on the day of the wedding, unless other, unanticipated issues arise. I always offer my willingness to provide premarital counseling (at an additional cost, based on time) but do not require it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to my pastoral training, I am also certified to work with the Prepare/Enrich program, which offers couples an opportunity to communicate about their relationship, their goals, and their hopes for the future.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with people of a variety of religious backgrounds (including people who identify as not religious), in a variety of venues (ask me!) and with a wide variety of ritual needs. I am interested in creating an experience that will work for the couple, and that is within my realm of expertise and professional comfort.
