My name is Ryan Farnung, owner of Rochester Percussion Studios, and I have been an active drum and percussion instructor in the Rochester area for over 15 years, and an active performer for over 20 years. My experience with a wide range of learners, from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals, has allowed me to develop a goals-based, flexible teaching style focused on the individual. Some of my students have gone on to become full-time professional musicians, and others enjoy the lifelong pursuit of their musical pastime. I am happy to help others meet their goals whatever they may entail.

Ryan has taught both of my children percussion for a few years. As a result, they are able to play with confidence. They are very receptive to his very supportive but laid back style, while also challenging them to be their best and learn more. Ryan also is fantastic with communicating with me about how the kids are progressing along the way. Highly recommended!

I begin with a trial lesson to see if we mutually agree that it will be a good fit. From there we select the studio location and timeslot most convenient for the customer.
