Mark has been walking our two dogs 3-5x/ week for a couple of months and we could not be more satisfied with his services. Our schedules are very irregular and Mark has always been flexible and accommodating. When he first met the dogs, they immediately took to him; now they are happy and calm when we get home every day, so I know they've enjoyed a good play session. He always leaves the house exactly as he found it and has never failed to close the back gate, lock all the doors, etc. He communicates frequently and responds quickly to both emails and texts. Mark charges the least of all the Rochester dog walking companies I found online; he does a fabulous job in every way; he is reliable, professional and friendly and I plan to continue using his services for the foreseeable future.

I was always hesitant to hire someone to come into my home and walk my dog. Unfortunately, with my long hours I needed someone to let my dog out midday. After contacting several dog walkers in the area I set up a meeting with Mark. He had competitive prices and was very responsive to my emails. On first meeting I knew I wouldn't have to interview anyone else. Enzo (my dog) took to him immediately - and he is sometimes wary of new men. Mark walks Enzo 3x a week and has been a lifesaver. Enzo is happier and doing better with housebreaking. I have been extraordinarily impressed with Mark's passion for what he does and professionalism. There have been times I needed someone to let Enzo out last minute and he was always able to accommodate me. Enzo got a GI bug last week and per Mark was "REALLY" messy when he arrived for his walk. He not only cleaned up his crate but gave him a bath. Acts like that to me, prove I picked the right dog walker and I will never look anywhere else for great care!

When my wife and I decided to bring (another) Portuguese Water Dog pup into the family we knew how difficult it would be with both our careers to make it home at lunch time every day. We evaluated our options (doggy day care, shifting our schedules, etc...) but each had significant drawbacks. I began to investigate reputable dog walkers in the Rochester area and one company name kept surfacing. I would not classify our needs as typical of a dog walker as we are fortunate enough to have a large fenced in backyard and were seeking a caring, reputable and insured company to come to the house and play with the dogs for a bit and get some of that portie energy out. That is exactly what we found with Mark and his team. Over the past 7 months the team at Rochester Dog Walkers has taken care of our 3 four legged children and taken care of them well. The dogs seem more relaxed when we get home and I attribute that to the mid-day romp they otherwise would not have had. We are very grateful for the work that Mark and team have done for us and the care they have provided for are pups.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We offer a free in-home New Client Meeting (or "meet and greet") with all new clients so that we can discuss your pet care needs and make sure we are a good match for your pets!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Staying up to date with new developments in training, dog handling, and industry trends is critical. As a member of Pet Sitters Associates and pet industry-specific mastermind and professional development groups, we are able to draw from a broad range of experienced individuals who work in pet care related fields. Our amazing staff consists of experienced professionals: former vet techs, doggy daycare managers, long-time pet sitters, and shelter workers. All of our staff members go through an extensive training process focused on safety, security, pet handling/care, and Pet First Aid and CPR Certification.
