Introduction: I do the jobs that a lot of welders won't do because they are small. I'm willing to give 100% to the job requested even if it means traveling to Manhattan and performing the task in a limited work space. My business is designed to be able to get to the job quickly, perform the welds accurately with the right materials and gas required in a timely manner. This is why restaurant owners and smaller businesses can call on me to get the job done during off hours. I have had an excellent working relationship with all of my customers so far, they also include working families that need repairs done to furniture, pipes, fences, automotive, sculpture and objects that have sentimental value. I enjoy being challenged to fulfill the needs of my customers who have interesting problems that they need solved. I particularly enjoy seeing how happy customers are when the job is finished and the object they needed fixed looks better than they could have imagined. They are also shocked that I can restore their project with a minimum of clean up and inconvenience.

Metalwork

Matthew from Lightspeed Welding did an excellent job cutting & welding a steel bed frame I bought to the specific dimensions I asked. I would definitely get in contact with him in the future for any other jobs I might need!

Metalwork

Matt responded to my initial inquiry on the same day and we schedueled an appointment in my home for Saturday of the same week. He arrived at my home, reassessed the broken weld, brought his equipment into the living room and repaired the Lazyboy motorized recliner. The chair works perfectly again and he left my home in excellent condition, as if he had not even been there. I reccomend him to anyone in need of metal repair. You will be very satisfied.

Metalwork

Matt helped me out with a fence drop rod that was bent at the bottom when my car accidentally struck the fence making it difficult to open and close. Matt was responsive, professional, a pleasure to talk to and well equipped with the materials needed to get the job done. Even when the job threw him a slight curve ball Matt was able to figure out a solution and knocked it out of the park. He made my fence drop rod function as good as before the repair. No job is too small for him. I highly, highly recommend Light Speed Welding for all your welding needs! A+++

Needed welding done on my gazebo that was given to us as a gift from my late father in law. Matt came and picked up the part and returned it on great condition. Excellent

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is based on the travel time, gas prices, tolls. Then I will take into consideration the type of metal that I am working with. For example, stainless steel is very expensive. Then there is the question of how much of the material is needed for the job. I have to call a supplier for the metal. They only sell full size sheets so if you only need a little bit, they still have to give you the full size. Then there is gas for the welding machine. Different types of metal use different gases. Some are very expensive. Then there is the wire that has to through the machine to make the weld. And finally, the generator that provides power to all those things that needs gas and oil and maintenance. So there you have it. Quite a lot to factor in

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Go slow and answer any questions that the customer has. I usually have them take a picture of the work they need and then send it to my cell phone or email. Then we go from there

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from Apex technical school in Manhattan and I have been working within my field since then. I was a little older than most when I started out but I love what I do and I picked it up fast. I also had good teachers and I never quit. Also, I was in the television business for a long time and believe it or not the two fields do intersect. Particularly when dealing with scaffolding and building temporary structures. Also the electric aspect is similar. Generators and other equipment like forklifts and power tools
