Introduction: I am a former higher education and marketing professional with experience in mentoring and training others in personal development, wellness, literacy and technology. Services I provide include stress awareness and stress reduction, mindful movement, meditation, and mindfulness. As a public speaker, I've discussed how mindful movement, mindfulness, meditation, spiritual practices and functional medicine can help those seeking relief from any combination of these conditions: Chronic stress, unmanaged perfectionism, chronic pain and chronic illness, loss of physical ability, eating disorders, mood disorders and trauma. Education builds self-empowerment! As a mindfulness coach and yoga practitioner, I've worked with a variety of people: Children, teen athletes, the elderly, "mainstream adults," people with mobility issues like Parkinson's, and those who need to heal their mind, body and spirit. I also understand the subtle and significant differences we need to acknowledge when working with people who have health, mobility, and emotional issues. I enjoy learn something new from every single student I meet. My students are my teachers, and I am overjoyed when they find their healing path.

I am currently in a weekly yoga class with Shirley at Christ Episcopal Church, Shaker Hts. We work on stretches, strengthening, meditation and relaxation techniques while respecting personal limitations.

I take Shirley's weekly class through Shaker Recreation and appreciate how Shirley tailors the poses to each individual in the class. Her approach plus her knowledge of and dedication to the practice has encouraged me to continue taking her class.

She teaches yoga carefully and specifically to each person's ability. She asks before class if anybody hurts anywhere. She gives you an adaptation if you can't do the pose. She can have a person do chair yoga along with the class. She checks our pose and corrects us gently. Her class is gentle, easy and slow paced. She includes spiritual(not religious) education, which I like to learn. I recommend her as a teacher! Betsy , student for several years

Shirley's yoga practice is life-changing. She is my favorite yoga & yoga nidra instructor and I'd recommend her to anyone looking to practice yoga. She incorporates different techniques & themes that really make the classes stand out and are great for any level yogi.

Both soothing and energizing, her sessions incorporate a variety of techniques to get a full experience. Shirley is also particularly good at providing adaptations and explaining why and how a movement works.
