Introduction: My husband David and I teach Yang's and Chen's T'ai Chi to students of all levels in a pleasant, effective and enjoyable way. We are certified to teach T'ai Chi and other internal systems by David Schenk, the founder of the Center for Body Mind Harmony. T'ai Chi is practiced for health. It can help students develop strength, flexibility, focus, co-ordination, balance and internal energy. It was originally developed as a martial art, but it is now more often thought of as a healthy exercise. I've been studying and teaching martial arts since 1974 and have been teaching T'ai Chi since 2006. I offer classes at The Yoga Place in North Canton, and Yoga Central in Canton.

Private Tai Chi Instruction

Laura's Ta'i Chi class, which is taught by her and her husband as a team, has been very helpful to me as a beginner. The class has students with all levels of experience, but they still are able to provide individualized assistance based on skill level. Also, they are friendly and patient and provide interesting background information about the history and practice of Ta'i Chi. I would recommend this class for anyone who is interested in learning Ta'i Chi in a professional and supportive environment.

Laura and her husband David are two of the finest Tai chi instructors I have yet had the pleasure to study with. They have the great gift of presenting information that is often difficult to grasp and internalize in a clear, systematic, and most engaging way. As a result, I and my fellow classmates are learning the movements, applications, and most importantly, the philosophy that constitute our Yang's tai chi form. To anyone who truly wants to learn tai chi, I cannot speak highly enough of Laura and David.

As a teacher Laura is patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. Each student is important and dealt with as a unique individual. Each class has moments of philosophical insight as well as light hearted play. She is very skilled at balancing the content of her classes. I have studied under a few tai chi chuan instructors but Laura is by far the best.

I could not have asked for a better teacher! I will continue to take classes from laura as long as she is teaching! It is super relaxing and I feel incredible since I started. You can really tell how much love she has for tai chi and it comes through when she is teaching. I recommend it for anyone interested!
