I returned their blueprints at a brief second visit and never heard from them again, so never had a chance to work together.
We are a high end residential remodeling firm servicing the Chagrin Valley areas and have worked with Kathy and her Valley Design Team for a number of years. She never ceases to inspire us and our clients with her abilities and the vision she brings to a project. Her attention to detail is incredible and the passion and knowledge she has for interior design is evident in her designs. Kathy is also very conscientious regarding costs and she will work tirelessly to meet a clients budget. Without reservation I recommend Kathy and her Valley Design Team for any interior design requirements a client might require. Large or small.Jan 3, 2015The Valley Design Team's reply

Kathleen was always available if I had any questions. Her experience as a decorator allowed us to examine many looks and choices before making a final selection.Jan 3, 2015The Valley Design Team's reply
Lovely, grateful clients. I enjoy being with them!
I have worked with Kathy for over 15 years as a workroom to make custom-designed toss-pillows and other soft-goods for her clients. Her attention to detail is excellent and her primary focus is that the quality of the finished product for her client is the very best possible. Her work orders are excellently detailed with either photos or drawings of just what she wants done. There is rarely a need to go back for more information. She also plans her jobs ahead so that there is plenty of time to complete a project without having to rush through it at the end. I feel that anyone will be very satisfied with her work! Natalie J. Brobst I enjoy working with her because she is very creative and ensures that her client will have a custom product that will be unlike any other that.Jan 7, 2015The Valley Design Team's reply
Natalie is the most discriminating and creative workroom for all of our specialty softgoods. Our clients are very lucky!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? We have our own open accounts and competitively purchase directly from vendors with our negotiated buying power. We sell to our clients at retail (offering available discounts), just as all stores do and this is how we are generally compensated. We carry many well-known brands and also offer products from many great companies that may be new to you! You pay for only the products you select and order. Our clients appreciate the value we offer because our extensive services are included to clients who purchase through us. We typically request a retainer from committed clients, rebatable toward purchases.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We do not typically charge a design fee, but may offer expanded $95 consultation-only up to 3 hours when traveling distances over 25 miles and/or for master planning services for larger projects. Our days, hours and rates are flexible and always client-driven. We have a comprehensive initial phone consultation and/or electronic dialog, then follow-up with F2F meeting (1.5 hours to up to 3 hours for larger projects) when we feel a mutually comfortable fit for those with project timelines up to 5 months. No two projects are alike; our process is flexible and provides for all project types. We share, discuss and may adapt relevant inspiration images and elements from both your ideas and our extensive portfolio following an evaluation including jointly developing a master budget outline and timeline.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold a BS in Interior Design and earned full NCIDQ certification becoming a Professional member of ASID (The American Society of Interior Designers) in 1979. We must fulfill ongoing educational training and CEU's (Continuing Education Units). I have exceeded the mandatory requirement, earning 20+ CEU's over the past 3 years. I have also earned the prestigious Certified Graphic Designer designation from my visualization software platform. I am also a proud 2018 International Dream Room competition winner for my Dark Kitchen Rescue project. I have also received our Directors and Positive Thinkers Awards.
