Introduction: This is my hobby that I get paid for. A job is something that you have to do. I love doing this! I have experience since the age of 9! Buckeye is connected with virtually every spa manufacturer in the US and Canada, so if we don't already have the part, we can get it. We are in uniform and drive a nice truck, therefore, you know we aren't a fly by night. I myself have built a spa. First, we ordered the spa shell, then we cut in all the jets, plumbed it, installed all the electrical components, and built a cabinet for it. We work on all makes and models regardless where you purchased the spa. Everything! I get to work with computers and do accounting. I get to drive a big 4X4 truck, work with tools, travel all over the state and out of state, interact with all kinds of people. I love it when a customer can see how much I know and care about my work and this industry. There are no negatives to this job!

Beware... the technician came after 8pm, he said he was 5 min away. I knew there was a $175 trip fee plus $125 per hour, minimum 1 hr. So $300 just to come and look at The spa. Knew it was too expensive but we had guests coming in two days and had yo use them. The breaker was tripped (yes, first I checked both of of them and reset them to make sure this was not the problem). He was there literally 2 minutes and flipped one switch. I asked him not to charge the hour, he just laughed, was rude, and would not adjust the price, not even compromise. This is not professional and certainly not courteous. I was prepared to pay for work done but this was ridiculous. And... he talked so much it seemed like he was trying to get another hour out of me. I made him clean the spa and clean the filter just so he at least did something. He would have gotten great reviews with a little customer service, but now I will go out of my way to make sure no one I know hires this company ever!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is not that difficult. We bill buy the hour and trip charge. After that, it depends on what parts you need and what chemicals, filters, covers ect. that you want.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have grown up in the pool and spa industry since I was 9. There was nothing that I know more about than this.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Replace circuit boards, motors, ozones, plumbing, and getting them the chemicals, covers, and filters they need.
