I emailed this morning to see if they would travel a long distance to take a look at our homes foundation, as Columbus is the closest place I can find any residential structural engineering firms with good reviews. Dax emailed me back quickly and let me know that we were indeed too far away and wished us luck on our issues. I greatly appreciate the communication, even though he couldnt take the job. Ive had a really hard time getting various contractors/companies to get back to me.

I apologize for the long review, but as I am writing this Dax and his company are fairly new and only have two Google reviews (both 5 stars, of course). I highly suggest reading if you need a structural engineer.Just over a year ago my wife and I bought a fixer-upper house. Weve had a lot of experts come to our property giving their wide-ranging opinions. While doing research into finding a structural engineer, we decided it would be best to hire a small local firm. I found Daxs company online and noticed his website was extremely professional. He had obviously spent a lot of time on it, and this is reflected in his work.To start, Dax showed up at our house on time and prepared, even though we had an early appointment. Over the past year we have had professionals come over without the right equipment or dead batteries, etc., which is a great way to lose business. This was NOT Dax. He was extremely personable and professional. The first thing he asked was where he should keep his shoes on or take them off. He was extremely respectful of our home.Dax started his inspection right away and wasted no time. We walked Dax through our property and pointed out areas of concern. Dax and I probably spent most of our time army crawling through the crawl space with a few good laughs along the way.At this point I should note that if you are already an individual homeowner hiring Dax, you are getting more than an inspection. Daxs report was extremely detail-oriented with measurements, pictures, and plans. Dax takes a lot of pride in saving the homeowner a lot of money, which can obviously add up a lot when doing structural repairs. He will set you up with a plethora of contractor recommendations that he was worked with personally, or he will work with your existing contractors to get the job done right. We are currently doing a landscaping project for drainage, and Dax wrote up a great plan to help our landscaper with grading and drainage details.I have maybe written two reviews in my life, but Dax and his company are worthy. Hiring Dax and his company could save you thousands of dollars.
