My daughter has been riding with Gretta for about 4 1/2 years. She has learned so much! The atmosphere of the barn is great! The kids encourage each other, and respect each other and all the animals there. She gets very upset if we have to miss a lesson. Gretta takes wonderful care of her students and her animals. I would recommend Elliott Stables to anyone!

Gretta has been my daughters instructor for about 5 years. When my daughter started riding she had no previous experience with horses.
Gretta has a real passion for passing on her knowledge to her students. Gretta took my daughters blank slate and with patient and competent instruction developed my daughters proficient horsemanship. If my daughter had the aspiration, Im confident, under Grettas tutelage, she could become an accomplished show-woman.
In addition to cultivating an environment that is safe for horse and rider, she had developed a barn culture that is respectful and supportive. My experience has been that both riders and parents/adults embrace this culture because it is the ideal environment for growing, both as an observer and a rider. I think one way this barn culture is established is by her encouraging more seasoned riders to mentor less seasoned riders. Not only does the mentor and mentee grow, but the communication removes the barrier of awkward silence.
Thank you, Gretta, for being a positive role model to my daughter. You have taught her how to live with grace and dignity. In addition you have taught us both that when life knocks you down, it is possible to build and live again.

Gretta is one of the few brave women in this world that takes the time to help teach young children proper values. Along with teaching them how to ride horses and care for them. She teaches them how to listen to and follow instruction; problem solve; work hard; persevere; and most importantly,to me, is that it doesn't take electronics or batteries for them to have fun and have a sense of accomplishment. What started out as a Christmas wish for my son at 9 years of age has lasted for 7 years now, and he volunteers every Saturday morning to work with Gretta and the horses......because he loves it soooo much.

My two Arabs have been boarded at Elliott Stables since I moved to the area five years ago. Gretta provides high quality feeds, regular feeding schedules and her own brand of kindness and sincere, individual care for each of the animals at the stable. The atmosphere at the stable is business-like, but warm and friendly. I also participate in the lesson program at Elliott Stables. Even while riding with other students, Gretta is able to individualize our lessons and not only point out our problems, but teach us how to work through them. The best part is that the lessons are big fun! I recommend Elliott Stables without reservation.
