Unfortunately he was very sweet, but was very assertive.
I hired him last minute and was told that it would be $100 per load. I asked if they charged a travel fee and he said no.
I had a bunch of trash bags on my porch and a few things in the basement… he told me he had a 16ft truck to haul it.
He arrives, and looks at the trash and says “200?” I told him that I was told $100 per load… (meaning per truck load)
He said “please please $200” I told him I would hate to have him drive all this way and for him to leave.
He then went on to explain that he has to pay a fee to drop the trash off, and that he drove 50 minutes to get to me.
I asked why he never mentioned the fee, and how he told me there was no travel fee. He disregarded that and went back to asking $200
I didn’t back down and told him that was too much. I literally stood in my kitchen negotiating with him… I finally said $150, and he was about to decline after he begged some more, then he decided on $150. And I said “and that’s for everything?” He said yes.
He went outside to take a couple bags, and I then began grabbing bags to help. He told me no that him and his son have got it. I went into the basement to gather the bags down there and bring them up.
I was done in about 10 minutes. I then sat all the bags outside for him to grab. I walked outside to prepare to pay him and he grabbed the last 2 bags and said “$200” I said what?? He said you keep adding bags… um no you didn’t even step into the basement to know what was in there, and that bag that was “added” was sitting at the top of steps waiting for you to grab it” he made some kind of angry noise and was mad that I added 1 bag??? In a 16 foot truck. I 90% of my house in a 16 foot truck, but maybe 30 trash bags, couldn’t fit?? Please.
Anyways just be aware. He was very fast working, and loaded it all but he will ask for more. And he will try to pressure you into more.
Details: No large items to haul • Mixed trash • Enough to fill half of a pickup truck • One flight

am sorry but your stuff was more than a pickup truck load ..it was about two pickup trucks..once again sorry for the misunderstanding
