FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I set a price based on the description. I detailed description of the works, due dates, number of pages, what type of editing, etc., will help me determine a bid. Faster turn times will cost more, long term planning will cost less.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When speaking with a customer the first time, I encourage them to talk to me. I can tell a lot about how a customer is feeling from the intiial discussion. Then I ask clarifying questions. After understanding the project, I can estimate the number of hours it will take and provide availability. Then the client decides if it is a good fit. Be prepared to share your university's guidelines as well. APA or MLA guidelines are well defined, but sometimes Chair's ask for specific adjustments. An example is the Table of Contents (TOC). APA does not spell out specific but leave much to interpretation. Understanding the university requirements helps me to meet the expectations and due dates.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have earned my EdS in Assessment, Evaluation and Accountability. I am close to finalizing my own PhD. Those degrees are valuable in understanding a scholar's work and direction. My experience as a High School teacher of computer software including desktop publishing, Microsoft Office products, Google docs, online conferencing, and development of tables that meet APA and MLA guidelines is what most clients appreciate.
