My name is Anastasia and I have been teaching partner dancing for over 10 years! I love inspiring my students to grow and learn new things that might initially be outside of their comfort zones. From passionate Latin styles - salsa, swing, and rumba - to classy ballroom - waltz and foxtrot - I can teach it all in a very simple and fun way. No partner or experience necessary, I will guide you in every step of the way (pun intended)! I’m very happy I went with Anastasia for private dance lessons. Dancing has always been something that has intimidated me, so I was relieved to have an instructor that was professional, down to earth, and concerned with ensuring my comfort level was a priority along with the content of the lesson. She takes the unique characteristics of each student into account when determining her teaching methodology, moving at a pace that is appropriate for the student’s goals, and stretching their capabilities with just enough pressure to be conducive to a satisfying pace of progress to prepare them for larger events to showcase their dances. These dance lessons are not only an introduction and mastery of the various levels within the dances, but an immersion into the dance culture itself, complete with checkpoints like ballroom dance parties and milestones like Showcases. This provides long term goals for the students, which helps increase the pace of progress. And moving even further, there is the opportunity to take part in competitions once an adequate skill level is acquired. In about three months, I have learned the hustle, east coast swing, tango, foxtrot, and rumba to a point where I can dance them in a public setting with reasonable confidence in my abilities as a lead. There’s still so much to learn, as these dances have levels that take years to master, and I’m confident that if I stick with Anastasia, I’ll get better and better with time, beyond what I had imagined possible at the beginning of this journey. 10/10

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First introductory dance lesson is 45 minutes long and only $45. After the first lesson, you will have a period time to take an unlimited quantity of discounted lessons before the full lesson rate kicks in to see if we are a good fit for one another!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We work together to schedule your first private lesson in our studio in Hilliard. 2. First lesson - dress in whatever is comfortable for you to move in. If you have no or little prior dance experience, during the lesson I will show you some of the most popular current styles. If you have danced elsewhere before, we will talk through your goals and aspirations to develop a lesson plan that suits your needs. 3. At the end of the first lesson we can create a plan of action based on how the first lesson went. We will also go over all of the details regarding future lessons and scheduling in order to fit your budget, availability, and goals. It's as easy as that!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began training when I was 12 years old with a 4x national Latin champion. I am a licensed instructor in all 4 styles of Ballroom dancing. I also consistently train with the best and most qualified coaches in the industry to continue my own personal growth and education in order to be the best teacher for you.
