Introduction

I stand out as a guitar teacher because I have a music theory and classical background that helps students better understand what they are playing and opens them up to different ways of playing than just strumming chords. I adjust my lesson plans to each student to suit their interests and abilities. If a student has a question I will go to any lengths to find their answer. I love helping a student get that sound and seeing them accomplish something they thought they couldn't. I love that as a musician you can always get better, and I love growing as a musician myself, because that makes me a better teacher.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Right now I am just starting out on my college journey, but I have a rigorous practice schedule for myself on three different instruments right now and am always expanding my knowledge of music theory.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Right now I am mostly trying to gain work experience to get more music-related and education-related things on my resume.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you haven't bought an instrument yet, make it a good one. I had a student once who had a truly terrible guitar that she could just not get her fingers around. She quit within two months and made almost no progress, and it wasn't even her fault.
