- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we start a new alteration , I'll invite customers to come in for a fitting with there pieces. If we spoke over the phone and it's a formal. I'll ask that you bring your shoes and undergarments that you would like to wear with the piece. Shoes and undergarments make a world of difference and I would love to give you the best fit possible. Some costumers are walk ins and have simple hems. If you know the inseam you like you can just let me know and I will put it on your projects ticket , you can also have a fitting if desired. I have a standered 2 weeks most days and for formals its a standard 4 weeks minimum. Please note that during my busy season I do have a longer wait list, We can and will speak about all that while your in the shop or over the phone. I do have slots for 2-4 rushes a month, I understand life gets in the way and sometimes a rush is needed . but try not to count on this there's only a few openings for this;) I call as soon as your pieces are ready and you can come in at your earliest convenience to pick up , try on if a formal . And then feel wonderful in your perfect piece;)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have enjoyed creating and altering fit and form of beautiful gowns to the simplest of hems and buttons for others now for well over 25 + years. I decided to take the leap into the world of a sweet little ( brick and mortar) shop called Pieces sewing and alterations in 2012 ;) I have been plestntly busy and packed at times ever sense , the best validation for such a leap of faith;)
