FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Due to the diverse nature of creative services, there is not one set pricing model I use for everything, as every project is unique. For example, designing a logo and photographing a wedding are two completely different services for which an equal hourly charge would not exactly be appropriate. Instead, I prefer to price based on the distinct service being provided, as well as how that fits into my client's budget, which I take very seriously.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First off, I prefer the term client over customer, for through my services, I aim to build long-lasting professional and personal relationships that go beyond a handshake and a paycheck. Nonetheless, when working with new clients, I first prefer to talk to them over the phone in order to formally introduce myself as well as talk through the details of the client's needs and what particular services I can provide for them. If the job is large and requires a consultation, I typically invite clients to meet for coffee or to come to my office. Following this, I always send clients a personalized contract that outlines the work being done and the respective pricing as well; I then give the client the opportunity to review and request changes before we both sign off and work begins. Contracts are very important to me, as I firmly believe that transparency is key to a professional relationship. I want my clients to feel comfortable knowing that they are being well served and that they are getting exactly what they pay for and absolutely nothing less.
