Doing some remodeling, I removed my unused fireplace, and the concrete floor underneath was broken with chunks of concrete missing. Floor was uneven, so I wasn't able to install LVPF. Matt came and did an excellent job repairing the floor. He leveled it out with the existing floor, so now I can install luxury vinyl plank flooring across a smooth, even surface. Communication was great. He stands by his work guarantee that if there's any issues with his work, he would immediately take care of the issue. Great job. I will most definitely be using his services for more projects at my home as well as reference others to his company.

Fantastic experience!! Matt is knowledgeable on so many things to do with home repair and does an efficient, professional and neat job and cared about what he did for me. He cleaned up everything once he was finished and took away the old materials that needed to be replaced. I will be calling him back for my next hoe repair jobs. I highly recommend Matt's Home Improvements for any job needed in one's home.

My elderly aunt needed a dangerous, crumbling front walkway replaced. I didn’t want to take on the project myself because I absolutely hate working with concrete. In my experience, home improvement people can be difficult to contact and get answers from, but Matt was easy to get in touch with. He made himself available via phone, text and email. On the day he said he was going to come out to do the concrete job, there were thunderstorms throughout the area. Matt made up for the delay by coming out on a Sunday to do the job and completed it in one day. Reasonably priced. Extremely friendly and professional. I would definitely hire him again.
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the job on a case by case basis. Every job is different and there is always the possibility of an unknown circumstance. This is why we prefer to come out and give a visual assessment of the job so that we can point out to the customer the details of the project and the reasoning behind the pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We generally like to come out to the project and do a visual estimate. Our estimates are free. This enhances our customer service by being able to give the customer a more accurate assessment of the scope of the project and there's no surprises with the cost. When our estimate is accepted we provide the customer with our proposal/invoice specifying the terms of payment. We usually require 1/3 of the total cost up front prior to scheduling and starting the job. Once received we confirm the project start date and get ready to provide the customer with a satisfactorily completed job.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My father was a contractor. I started learning the business from the ground up at age 14, learning all facets of home improvements/repair. I have owned my own business for over 20 yrs. I received certification in carpentry from Max Hayes Vocational School. I attended Fortis college HVAC program. I have an associates degree in business from Auburn Community college. Currently working on obtaining certifications in mold remediation, lead paint removal, water restoration, and fire/smoke restoration. Always striving to learn about new procedures and equipment in my trade.
