FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got my start in the trades right out of high school at 18, joining the union as a carpenter with Local 200, where I began my apprenticeship and learned the value of skilled craftsmanship and hard work. During my third year, I made the switch to electrical work and joined the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), completing a rigorous apprenticeship program that combined hands-on training with classroom instruction. I earned my Journeyman Wireman license and went on to hold leadership roles, from foreman to project manager, on commercial, industrial, and residential projects across Central Ohio. That strong union foundation—focused on safety, code compliance, and top-tier workmanship—gave me the expertise and confidence to launch my own electrical contracting company. Today, I bring that same dedication to every homeowner and business in the Westerville area, delivering reliable, high-quality electrical solutions with the professionalism I’ve built over the years.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project I’m particularly fond of was installing a Level 2 EV home charger for a family in Westerville who had just purchased their first electric vehicle. They wanted a reliable, fast-charging setup in their garage that integrated seamlessly with their existing electrical panel without any disruptions to their daily routine. I started with a thorough inspection of their 200-amp service panel, upgraded a couple of circuits for optimal load handling, ran dedicated wiring, and mounted the charger with a clean, code-compliant install. The homeowners were thrilled with the result—it charges their EV overnight at a fraction of public station costs, and they love the app integration for scheduling and monitoring. The entire job took 2 full days (about 12-14 hours total), including panel work, and final testing. It’s always rewarding to help clients go green while ensuring everything is safe and up to Ohio electrical codes. Projects like this showcase why I love what I do—combining technical skill with real solutions that make life easier for homeowners!
