I hired this company to resurface my driveway for approximately $4,700. While the project was initially completed quickly and some concerns were eventually addressed, the overall experience was far more stressful and frustrating than it should have been for a job at this price point.
Before the work began, I specifically discussed preserving the drop sleeve for my driveway gate. Despite that conversation, the sleeve was sealed over during resurfacing, which prevented the gate from latching properly and created a security issue for my dogs. When the crew initially returned, the “fix” involved hammering through the fresh asphalt and forcing the gate spoke into the hole rather than properly reopening or reinstalling the sleeve. I had to push back firmly before the issue was taken seriously. To which the owner admitted that he didn’t even know what a drop sleeve was so my dad explained it.
There were also multiple areas with loose gravel shortly after completion, uneven transitions near the sidewalk, and sections that did not appear properly compacted. My garage door also did not close properly after the resurfacing due to the height difference created at the apron. To their credit, they did come back, cut the area out, and corrected it. They also offered to extend the asphalt to cover the mandoor walk path after creating a significant step difference there.
The owner eventually came out in person and was much more professional than the communication I had initially received from the office. He claimed he was unaware of the extremely rude and dismissive responses I had been getting and apologized for how things were handled. He stated the office person responsible would be moved into a different role within the company. I appreciated him taking the time to address the concerns directly instead of avoiding them.
That said, there were still issues that were never acknowledged or resolved properly. The cleanup was poor, and my tree lawn was significantly damaged during the project with no meaningful discussion, accountability, or resolution offered for that damage.
The company has agreed to return in the fall to seal coat the driveway at no additional charge, and I do appreciate that effort toward making things right. I sincerely hope they follow through on that commitment and that the repairs hold up over time.
I’m leaving 2 stars because, while they did eventually come back and make efforts to correct several issues, the amount of oversight, stress, follow-up, and pushing required to get there was unacceptable. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to get every detail in writing, document everything with photos/videos, and thoroughly inspect the project before final payment.
