- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you work with me, I want it to feel thoughtful, collaborative, and clear at every step. Here’s what you can expect: 1️⃣ Initial Chat – We’ll start with a friendly conversation to understand your vision. You can share any ideas, inspiration images, or sketches you already have — the more detail, the better! 2️⃣ Photo Reference Stage – For realistic watercolor illustrations, I create custom reference photos. This means staging a photo shoot with real-life models. You’re welcome to provide your own model if you prefer, or I can present up to three model options for you to choose from. This ensures the final artwork truly reflects what you imagined. 3️⃣ Booking & First Payment – Once we’re aligned on the plan, I’ll send a simple agreement and an invoice for 50% of the total project cost. This upfront fee covers the model fee, the photo shoot, and my time creating the initial sketches. 4️⃣ Sketches & Revisions – I’ll send you my first set of sketches based on our references. You’ll have the opportunity to review them and request up to two rounds of revisions to get things just right. 5️⃣ Final Payment & Painting – After the sketches are approved, the remaining balance is due. Then, I begin painting the final illustrations with great care and attention to detail. I keep you in the loop throughout the process so you always know where we stand. My goal is to make sure you’re delighted with the finished work and the journey we take to get there.
