I teach and produce from a personal level. I don't start people over and have them learn "my method". We start with what you already know and move forward. No boring drills and exercises. For singers we'll sing and records songs you know and love, for songwriter and poets, I teach how to take a simple phrase and turn it into a professional song. I incorporate theory into our lessons using a method I developed years ago which makes it easy to understand. Actually everything, I enjoy people. This is my giving back to an industry that I've spent a lifetime in and so many think they can't sing or write songs and when they discover they can and you see their eye's "light up", it's worth all the effort.

It was clear from the very first session that Jimmy Lee is an incredibly talented and patient teacher. After just a few lessons, my knowledge of music theory, vocal technique, and confidence performing increased exponentially. By incorporating the latest recording equipment and his experiences as a successful singer, song writer, and musician, Jimmy Lee has been able to help me improve my singing in a remarkably short amount of time. He is always willing to work around my somewhat unpredictable schedule, and often offers to continue teaching longer than the allotted lesson time. It is obvious that Jimmy Lee truly cares for all of his students and does everything he can to help them succeed. I am extremely luck to have found such an amazing teacher and am excited about the opportunity to continue learning from him.

Jimmy lee is a great vocal coach. He inspired you to believe band yourself and not give up on dream. Even though it might take a lil more time than you need . I have gone 3 voy coach before I found him . I am so gald I found him . He is an amazing person overall!

My teenage daughter has been working with Jimmy Lee for about 3½ years. It has been a wonderful experience that we wouldnt trade for anything. Jimmy has a lot of patience and he works with her around things she is interested in while still stretching her abilities and experiences with areas in music she may not have considered. I have watched my daughter grow leaps and bounds with her music under the tutelage of Jimmy Lee. She is really learning how to feel and perform the music. We couldnt ask for a better teacher or mentor.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for students is per session or lesson and I try to keep this as fair as possible. I do not make my living from teaching so I'm able to charge much less than others. Pricing for songwriter demos are posted on our website. Projects can be simple or quite involved so I always suggest an initial "free" consult with me and we work out the details for the project and set a total fee. Time involved is not a factor as I don't sell time. It might take a few weeks or longer. I don't ever concern myself with how long a project takes, it's always about the quality. Pricing can be worked out with payments over time, PayPal, a simple down payment and balance on completion. I don't want my client worrying about extra fees or how long a project might take. It's set at the beginning and then we get into the fun side and "make music".
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I try to stay on top of everything in the industry. You have to. From the latest developments in the technology to the latest ways we're marketing talent and songwriters. As a musician/singer/songwriter myself it's a job requirement and then I pass on everything to my clients and students. Nothing makes me happier than the successes of my students and clients!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in the 5th grade in school in a geography class (which I found boring) and they announced over the loud speaker that anyone who would take band would get out of that class 15 minutes early. It was OFF to band for me. The only instrument the school furnished was a snare drum, a bass drum and a tuba. I chose share drum, pretty easy choice. I took to it and loved it. The next year I was in the High School band and the following year I was the leader of the drum section, the jazz band and then I got my first set of drums and started performing with local bands at the age of 13. This was the early days of "Rock n Roll" with Elvis Presley. This is when we invented Rock n Roll. It was a glorious and fun time to be involved and it just took over my life.
