I hired Mitch for some professional headshots for theatre schools and auditions and he did fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot, it was a very comfortable environment and any time he made any adjustments with lighting or showed me something he made sure to explain why he was doing what he was doing. It made the whole process feel more like a colaborative effort rather than just being the person in the picture, I was able to understand the process as well. Very nice, very professional, and an all around amazing experience with headshots I'm very excited to use!!

Mitch completely exceeded all of our expectations. My fiancé and I are from Houston. We had planned to spend a few days visiting northern New Mexico. We thought it would be terrifically convenient if we could coordinate this time away from work with our engagement photos. We used Thumbtack to describe our request for a photographer that could incorporate us into natural New Mexican backdrops and requested samples before making a commitment. We received and evaluated two bids and chose Mitch (the higher bid) based on the samples he provided, his cumulative online presence and reputation, and his intimate familiarity with the landscapes of northern New Mexico as a regionally prominent landscape photographer. We did not use a "professional" photographer with a polished commercial website because they seemed to have mediocre featured photographs, inflexible schedules, and rigid pricing and copyrighting schemes which cumulatively left us only tepidly enthused. This motivated us to try Thumbtack (new to us both) to access equivalently talented professionals who may simply lack the polished commercial web presence of full-time photographic studios. Mitch met us at our accommodation in Santa Fe at 10 am. He was promptly on time with unexpected refreshments and snacks in tow for what would be an 11 hour day covering 190 miles and some of the most picturesque scenes in northern New Mexico. He had driven from Albuquerque that morning to meet us. We were super excited and had packed a few extra outfits which he could easily accommodate in his SUV. Throughout the day and evening and as the light changed, we visited, hiked through, and did photographs in areas including Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, the Chama Valley, and Plaza Blanca, and we were even able to incorporate some long-exposure night photographs replete with a starry sky. Mitch always had the appropriate photo-gear in hand, even when we hiked distances over 1 mile to the scenes he recommended. This gear included silver screens, multiple tripod lights and flashes, alternative lenses, and occasional photo props. 600 photos later we were home. We had the proofs 4 days later and selected a relatively small subset of these for editing and a subsequent additional subset for printing. The quality of the editing and the printing was outstanding and everything arrived on time. We highly recommend Mitch, especially to anyone who is looking to do engagement photographs in northern New Mexico.

Over the past 25 years, I have worked with many photographers both professionally and personally. I count Mitch among the best of them. He is wildly creative, intuitive, precise and can’t hide the fact that he simply LOVES getting a great shot! During our two hour outdoor engagement shoot, he never once failed to explore every possible opportunity at our location. In addition to having an amazing eye for what will look great, he was completely open to our suggestions. While shooting, Mitch’s easygoing attitude made what could have been stressful, into an absolute joy! After the shoot, Mitch got us proofs in a very reasonable amount of time and we ended up with many more great shots than we imagined we would. Mitch also has a fine eye for editing what he shoots. It was wonderful to receive images in different sizes and resolutions. We especially loved his black and white edits. In short, if you are looking for a photographer capable of not only capturing emotion and joy, but someone who will be as excited as you are about your images, and all at a very reasonable price, You will NOT regret hiring Mitch!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My quote for basic services includes digital transfer of images via on-line protected password. Transfer of unedited images is typically the day of or day after the shoot or event. I optimize all images from the shoot and give all images to the client. I generally don't offer discounts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The specific process is completely dependent on the type of service requested. Generally, I'll be communicating via Thumbtack messenger, phone, e-mail, Skype, or Facebook Messenger, as appropriate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended upper level classes using my GI bill and I have shot thousands and thousand of images in all sorts of lighting conditions, weather, and a vast array of localities.
