FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Paying an attorney is complicated. Some cases are "flat fee" cases. The client pays a certain amount and the attorney does the job. Example: A will is flat fee usually. On other cases you pay a "retainer." This is an estimate by the attorney how much the case will cost. You pay this amount up front. The attorney puts the money in a trust account and draws money out of it as s/he works on your case. Usually divorces are based on retainers. Contingency cases are where the lawyer does the job and pays himself a percentage of what you win. You don't win, the attorney does not get paid. Example: Personal injury

- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I hate bullies. In many cases, whether it is an insurance company or a spouse, someone uses their upper hand and knowledge to cheat or take advantage of you. I level the playing field and try to take the advantage. "We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way. Either one is okay with me."
