FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
What we do is consider how many servings that are needed and then basically multiply by $3.00. When there are extra details added or fillings added the price of course will go up some. An example would be a simple 3 tiered wedding cake with bands around each layer would be approx. $250 - $300 dollars with a more detailed cake the price would go up to compensate the time it takes to decorate and how intricate it will be. You can get a good idea on the website, we list the prices on each of the cakes along with how many servings each one should feed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We continually do research on our cakes - to include different techniques of decorating to tips and tricks on making the cakes come out perfect. With each and every tip we learn we have to try it out! We get so excited when we learn something new. We want your cake to be perfect when it leaves our hands and we place it in yours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Me and my daughters had been making cakes for family and friends for a long time. Then people started to ask us how much we would charge? The wheels started turning! We enjoyed making these cakes so much we decided to make a little extra money selling our cakes. We both, my daughter Brandi and I wanted to be able to stay home with our children instead of going to work and have someone else raising our children. So Piper's Cakes was open for business.
