Introduction: It Does NOT. All Locksmith are (or SHOULD BE) Professionals. Some do NOT care but most I have met here in Oklahoma and Arkansas Care about the Customer (YOU) and their Needs! I went from being a Security Officer (Not guard But Professional Industrial Security Officer for an Aircraft/Aerospace Manufacturer, to Truck (18wheels) Driver to Locksmith, I have over 20 years in Security (Mostly Physical/property security). I can look at your Security Needs (I do NOT do alarms or cctv But Know where good placement of devices should be! Just ask, so when someone comes in and says you need it here. can someone slip by with OUT being seen or detected. And do You have an Auto Battery backup. Like running through Batteries and Electric keeps them charged? Meeting people and Sharing their problems... frustration, Assuring them that Everything is going to be ok Especially when you put your things and child in the car and doors lock automatically! :( And when the Lord Jesus Christ asks me to share HIM with the customer....or persons near I DO! Because YOU are NOT my SOURCE BUT just a RESOURCE. God is my Source!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Trade Magazines, Other Locksmiths, and Suppliers, and Trade Show classes Unfortunately at present time I can not recall the last Show or Class I took. Elsewhere on Here tells Why I have (Believing to Be HAD) a poor memory due to a brain infection I Had in Jan 2010! or on FaceBook.com, God's Wisdom, Files Look for Hello Everyone!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was a child in Southern California and saw the locksmith rekey the lock I wanted to become one. But when I was old enough to pursue it as a career. I either Had to be a Licensed Locksmith, Work for one, or went to a California locksmith school. and to go to School you had to be a licensed locksmith! so in CALIFORNIA it's a catch 22 situation, You need a license to become a locksmith and You need a license to go to school to become one! and You couldn't get one unless you already were a locksmith.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Due to a disability Mostly now just unlock cars/ trucks, and copy keys, install New Locks. Takes me TOO Long to rekey locks. so if customer is in a hurry (where used to take me 1 to 2 hours to rekey a house with 4-6 locks (Keyways where you stick the key) from time I pulled up till time I am driving away. now taken me about 1-1/2 to 3 hours Per Lock Cylinder Down from 4 hours a lock and giving up for a simple Kwikset lock back in March 2010 after I got out from the hospital. PLEASE Do not let this detour you from hiring or calling someone to do the Job!
