FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We quote prices on a case-by-case scenario. As a general rule, defense of criminal charges for a simple misdemeanors start at $2,500, for defense of a felony charge, we start at $5,000, ranging upward depending on the complexity of the issues presented. For divorce and custody cases, we bill hourly on a retainer basis. Our retainers start at $2,500 for straight-forward matters, ranging upward depending on the complexity of the litigation. For personal injury cases, we work on a contingent fee arrangement (the attorney fee is paid from the recovery), starting with 1/3 of the recovery, plus the hard costs of representation, ranging upward based on risk and complexity.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is our attorneys' goal to initially meet with the potential client, to gather all of the pertinent information needed, to pursue the case. With our two locations, and readily available attorneys, it is easy for the attorney to make that initial contact with the client. Should there be a circumstance where the potential client is unable to travel, we do travel to homes or mutually agreeable locations, for a free consultation. Once we all decide to work together, we proceed with representation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I joined the United States Marine Corps while attending Okmulgee High School and left for boot camp 2 days after graduation. I later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. I ran a sports magazine and then worked at the Tulsa World before attending the University of Tulsa College of Law. I earned my J.D. in 2003 and have been an active trial attorney throughout my practice.
