FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The easiest way to get started with DWT is to take the 45-min Introductory Special. This gives us a chance to find out what your dancing goals are/why you want to dance, you get to learn some of the basics of social dancing so you can see what interests you the most, and gives us the opportunity to tailor a program specifically for you should you decide to continue dancing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
21+ years teaching and dancing. Began dancing with Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Portland, OR. Earned Associates Dance Director Certificate with Honors. Many professional coachings, classes, and continuing education in both American and International styles of ballroom (includes ballroom, latin, swing). Continuing education classes in Argentine Tango both in the states and Argentina.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Of all things, I was working for UPS at the time I saw an ad for Dance Instructors at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Portland, OR. It sounded a lot more fun, active and interactive than what I was doing. I went to the studio and applied and started my training and loved every aspect of teaching and dancing- I've been hooked ever since, that was 21 years ago!
