I´m a native Spanish speaker, spontaneous and creative which helps bring a dynamic environment into the class where grammar content is constant and basic. I have my own method of teaching and have created hundreds of practice materials specific to the needs of each of my individual students. My classes are conducted in Spanish, but I can switch easily into English in order to help my students comprehension, depending on their level. My lessons are typically held in my own classroom, but I can also travel to a neutral location, the students place of business/home or conduct lessons via Skype. I like to learn from my students. I enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to enhance their learning and comprehension. Whether its through songs from my favorite Latin artist or current events, this gives me the challenge of continuously adapting my lessons to keep my program relevant, effective and fun for my students.

I believe that Mario Galindo is an excellent Spanish teacher. I have had private lessons from him as well as Portland Community College conversational classes, and he was equally skilled in both settings. I particularly liked the way he incorporated some Latin America culture into the homework assignments. Mario creates a comfortable learning environment for his students, and keeps things interesting while helping students acquire a solid foundation of Spanish.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I come from a family line of 3 generations of teachers, primary school and high school teachers and I wanted to continue with the line, but in a different way. I have been working for over 10 years as a private Spanish Instructor and for the past 4 years, I have also been working as an Instructor at the local Community College.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Conversational practice and grammar study.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Choose a provider who loves what they do. Choose someone who you can connect with personally, so the classes are interesting and fun and don´t feel like a chore. Start making Spanish speaking friends to practice. A Salsa lesson is a fun and efficient form of doing it!
