About Sky Blue Iris Photography

I'm looking for clients who may be on a budget but still want their memories captured artistically and professionally. I can travel almost anywhere in Oregon and Southern Washington, and I have a lot of openings this year. I'm excited to meet new people and share in their special events. It's my joy to take pictures, and I love to give people a record of their memories.

I've been working in the wedding business as a photographer since 2009 and have been taking photos since I was in junior high. I've been working with Photoshop and similar programs for most of that time as well, and I believe that a great photo doesn't need Photoshop, but a photographer should be willing to refine the work he does after it comes off the camera. I love to take that extra artistic step to turn the photos from snapshots to works of art. It's with this in mind that I'm striving to be different from your typical wedding photographer. I have a modest pricing, an agreeable contract, a reasonable cost for enlargements and no extra cost for touch-up, black and white, sepia, or any other artistic treatment.

I know that there are a lot of couples getting married who either can't afford or don't want to pay the premiums larger studios put on their packages. I want to offer a different option; a photographer with experience who is able to meet you where your budget is. Let's face it. Everyone has a camera these days and a lot of people have really nice cameras. Often, the only thing that separates a professional photographer from a friend or family member with a nice camera is experience.

If this sounds like the type of photography you're searching for, then send me an email or give me a call. I always schedule a first meeting through email or over the phone with clients. There is no pressure but just a nice conversation to meet and talk about what you're looking for. If you decide to hire me, then we'll meet, have a cup of coffee and go over the fine print.

Please visit my website for more information on the pricing options and more examples of my work.

Thanks for looking, and I hope to hear from you!

It was fantastic working with Justin, We got some great shots with little hassle which was one less thing to stress about. There were some moments we would have like captured that didn't get caught. However, we were extremely thankful that Justin was flexible and stayed a little later!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The majority of my work comes from weddings but I've also done engagement sessions, dance recitals, New Years Eve parties, commercial and promotional work, head shots, boudoir sessions and concerts.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Wedding photographers are as varied an industry as can be, there are so many price levels and packages and options it can be overwhelming. Remember to ask questions and go with your instincts. Find a photographer who's work moves or excites you. Hint: they're not always the most expensive!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am committed to providing a valuable service for clients on a budget. I believe that wedding photography should be affordable and high quality and that, even with a modest budget, your wedding photos should look amazing.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Unlike a typical desk job, my office changes every time I do a shoot! I love to get to know my clients and find out what makes them special and reflect that in their photography. I love to travel to new places and do something creative.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most client's questions are unique to their wedding or event, and mostly involve package options, but often I'm asked how long I've been in business (since 2009) and how long I've been taking photographs (I've been shooting periodically since 1995).
