Introduction: When experience matters, I offer state and federal litigation and pre-litigation mediation and arbitration in Oregon and California. Since 1981, I have served as a pro tem judge in several California counties in the SF Bay Area. I have been a settlement commissioner since 1996, and have arbitrated and mediated numerous disputes, primarily in personal injury and other tort litigation, with some business disputes. I am currently a hearing officer for the Oregon Department of Human Services. My ADR style is most effective on the evaluative side of the process, where appropriate, but where continuing relationships are important. I am very quick on the uptake, and will identify and resolve ongoing concerns.

It is always easier to stay out than get out. In the context of litigation, anyone who has been through it knows what that means.
