FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe that customers should be aware of the different methods of pricing being used by painting contractors. One popular method of pricing is the square foot/dollar amount. The SF/$ pricing method was originally popularized by the real estate industry and has been adopted by many contactors for it's simplicity. The downside of this method of pricing is that although it is fast and easy to use, it can be a wildly inaccurate representation of the costs for a particular project, especially on larger projects. This method of pricing is essentially a "guess-timate" that often relies on the estimator's gut instinct to estimate labor and materials. This is why we prefer to use production rate estimating. A slightly more complex but quantitative, accurate approach to reliably estimate the actual costs of labor and materials for a project based off of the actual dimensions of the structure or substrate being renovated.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process starts with great communication. We approach every project with identifying our potential customer's needs in great detail, not only to clarify what their needs are, but to make sure that we are genuinely a good fit for them and their project. Once we have identified a clear scope of work, we will schedule an on-site estimate to take precise measurements, go over project specifics, potential scheduling concerns, etc... We then provide customers with an estimate that reflects all the options available to them and the respective costs associated with those options, for customers to build their own proposal for their project.
