FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My interest in photography has been something I’ve always had, I just never had the ability to pursue it until about a year and a half ago where I just decided to go for it. I bought a camera, decided on a name for my business, started a Facebook Business page and here we are today.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Women Empowerment! Not your typical women empowerment but one that takes women who have been through hell and back in relationships or other situations in their life, left with no self-esteem, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues, and brings them to a safe place to talk, get to know each other and share stories to gain trust and the confidence to get in front of the camera. It lets a side of themselves shine that hasn’t been allowed to before or in a very long time. Once we get started, it isn’t too long and we are having so much fun it’s over with and they are smiling ear to ear telling me how they can’t WAIT to see their photos. We have a “Reveal” meeting where I present their edited photos to them for the first time and the looks on their faces and the tears that are shed, warm my heart something fierce. We then upload all their favorites to their SECURE, password protected, online gallery where they can go home and look through again at their own pace and that’s where I usually get a text or 5 telling me how amazing they feel and they never thought they could ever feel this way about themselves. That’s what it’s all about. Seeing someone smile and LOVE themselves for the first time in way too long, is a feeling I will never forget being able to help someone accomplish.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. Know what style you are looking for and seek out that style of photographer. Look at their work, ask for more and ask them questions.
