Today was my first day working with Darin, and I must say I was more than impressed by his knowledge in music, skills in pedagogy, and his overall passion and enthusiasm for music and teaching! I could truly sense his excitement for me to learn and how much he cared to provide me with all the resources needed for me to succeed. He is not only an excellent pianist, but truly has incredible talent and knowledge in teaching. He truly spends his time generously in teaching and makes the learning experience so exciting. Darin spend extra time outside of the lesson planning out the lesson and then typing up all the things we covered in the lesson so I would have a summary and point of reference. I highly recommend him and am looking forward to working with him as my teacher!

Darin is a great instructor with passion for the piano and a lot of pride in what he teaches. He has easy to understand examples for beginners and is focused on helping his students succeed! Darin is very responsive to inquiries, willing to help in all aspects from schedule flexibility, instrument buying, and is eager to work with students of all skill levels. I had an excellent time and I can’t wait to go back and learn more! If you are a beginner, have some experience with piano or an expert just trying to brush up I would say Darin has the skills & knowledge to help anyone achieve their goal!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally it is $55 per hour and $40 per 45 minute lesson at my location. I add $5 for commuting to the client within 25 miles. I am always willing to discuss a client's budget considerations however.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Having a preliminary call that answers immediate questions and a free lesson solidly align a client's needs and interests with what I offer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in Piano performance and Pedagogy, and am an active member in the Oregon Music Teachers Association, and the National MTNA.
