Darin was a joy to work with. He was responsive to messages, flexible with scheduling, and arrived right on time. As he was getting set up he told me some interesting history about the company that manufactured my piano and pointed out some unique features that I hadn't known about. The tuning itself took a little less than two hours. It was such a pleasant surprise when, as he was getting close to completing the tuning, he began to play some songs to check and fine-tune the sound. He is a classically trained pianist so it was like having a mini-concert in my living room :)
Darin was so knowledgeable, amiable and professional. I'd highly recommend him to friends and plan to contact him again when my next pianotuning rolls around.

Darin is extremely knowledgable with all aspects of piano care, and was very patient with all of my questions. I have an upright piano that had not been tuned since long before I bought it (possibly 10 years). Darin was able to bring it back to life. To accomplish this, he had to raise the pitch quite a bit. The muted off tune tin-like sound is no more. Darin has the heart of a teacher, and took the time to make sure I understood all that he was doing and what his concerns were before he did anything. What I learned through this process was worth more than the money he charged for the tuning. I would reccommend Darin to anyone who needs anything done from tuning to full restoration.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Answer any questions or concerns up front, work out the best immediate appointment time, and plan on the finest results as my bond and guarantee! My reviews and work fortunately speak for themselves this way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed a full apprenticeship with a Piano Technicians Guild master tuner and technician. I also hold Masters and Bachelors degrees in music both in piano performance and pedagogy.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I apprenticed for 3 years while I was in graduate school for piano performance and pedagogy.
