Tom has handled hundreds of cases as an attorney. He has vast experience practicing criminal law, including misdemeanor, traffic, and felony cases, where he has tried countless cases with great success both in front of judges and juries. Tom has handled numerous civil cases, both as a plaintiff's attorney and a defense attorney.
Tom also practices small business law, with a focus on green companies, setting up and advising numerous entrepreneurs with an LLC, LLP or S-Corp.
An expert in negotiating and drafting contracts, Tom works on partnerships, commercial leases, non-compete agreements, sale, licensing, and service agreements.

Tom is an active member of his community. He has been a mentor through the Big Brother/Big Sister program and to new law students at Lewis and Clark. Tom taught presentation skills to high school students for the summer mini MBA program at the University of Portland.
He is a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, as well as the Multnomah County Bar Association. Tom also participates in the Punahou School and the University of Oregon alumni associations. He enjoys spending time with his family and surfing in the cold waters off the Oregon coast.
