We're a small, custom GC firm out of the Ambler area, focusing on high quality, full-service remodels and carpentry. Timberworks was opened in 2017 and we've continued to work closely with our customers to provide the exact finished product that was originally intended.
Our main areas of work include:
-Kitchen, bath, and general interior remodeling
-Custom cabinetry and millwork
-Finish carpentry and trimwork
-Stair remodels, installation, and updates
-Exterior projects such as decks, doors, and pergolas

I met with Chris in early 2019 to get an estimate for replacing kitchen drawers that had long since broken or were missing when I bought my house years ago. Chris showed up on time and presented his insurance and other credentials immediately. He asked questions to make sure he understood what I was looking for and presented a fair price. Ultimately the quality of the work was outstanding. He even spent extra time with one or two of the drawers to make sure they met his own high standards. I was so pleased with the quality work, craftsmanship and Chris’ professionalism that I hired him on the spot for another project that involved building a sturdy, quality bookshelf within a doorway I wanted closed off. Again, Chris impressed with a great finished product and timely turn around just this week. If you want craftsmanship and great work from someone who really cares and also recognizes the work speaks to his reputation, hire Chris. You won’t regret it. I have a deck that needs building, and when I’m ready, Chris will be the guy I call to build it.
Chris did a great job on my tile backsplash, and offered a competitive rate. More importantly he is a top notch professional with great customer service. I would absolutely hire him again.

Chris built our custom laundry room and mud room from plans that we designed together. The workmanship was exceptional and Chris is very reasonable and professional. We loved his work and are looking to hire him again!

We used timberworks to install our tile backsplash and some minor carpentry work as part of our kitchen remodel. Chris was a pleasure to work with. His price was reasonable and allowed us to avoid getting in over our head with a "do it yourself" project to stay on budget. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend him. We look forward to working with him for our next home remodel projects in the near future.

I hired Chris to remove an old tile backsplash in my kitchen and put up a new backsplash. The old tile was on drywall which he was able to remove/replace very quickly. The new tile was up the same day and the job only took two days. I’m very happy with his work and would definitely hire him again in the future. His prices are reasonable and the quality of work was A+

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing within remodeling can be tricky - every project is different than the last, and each one comes with it's own set of challenges. I work hard to relay all of the different options you'll have in front of you so you know exactly what you're paying for.
I don't charge any "fees", however like any business, I do have material markups, that are disclosed on my proposals. Permitting fees are separate and charged for on a job-by-job basis determined by the respective township.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To get things rolling (aside from the initial phone call), I like to physically see every project in person. This is a very visual trade - for both me as a contractor and you, as the client. We're building something, no matter how small it is, and the site visit is necessary to determine scale as well as functionality.
Once we've met in person and have established a budget that works for the project, I can offer rendering services if needed, or can begin to research options if there's no need for a drawing. The more info you have when we initially meet, even if it's images from a Google search, the better!
After a clear direction has been established, and some material choices are picked, I can move ahead to writing a proposal and get some formal prices going for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-I attended a vocational high school.
-While living in Massachusetts, I had an active Construction Supervisor's License, which is a tested licensing program based upon the ICC's residential building code.
