Resume Writing/Academic Tutor/Computer Instruction

Introduction: Resumes and cover letters are your first introduction to a potential employer. Presenting yourself on paper is key to getting the interview and being chosen from a large pool of candidates. Effective interview and follow-up techniques are also important. I assist the client on positioning themselves in the best way while also helping with how they handle themselves during an interview. I am very understanding of the needs of the student. Having been in the classroom, I know each child or person is different and it is my responsibility to determine the best method of instruction. My background in independent schools and developing curriculum allows me to do the same while tutoring. I can use the curriculum that the student is using in school and supplement that with a more diverse approach. The student not only gets what they need to be successful in school but additional information to reinforce what they have learned. I understand the need to be proficient in technology. So much of our work includes needing to know how to do some of the simple things with MS Office, web design software or other software. As a marketing and communications director at a local educational and conference center, I understand what to teach but also have the patience to work with anyone on any level. Seeing the smiles and hearing the stories when clients make changes in their academics, understand a computer program, or get hired for a job.
