David and Melissa from Valiant arrived on time. I'm a stickler for punctuality so this was the first positive. They were then willing to sit down to discuss what I considered my unique needs - I needed a current appraisal and another one reflecting the value of the home last year (I learned that this was more common than I thought). They were willing to do the additional sales research for me at a reasonable additional fee and produce a 2nd report. They then performed a very thorough measurement and photographic inspection the interior and exterior of the house. Both reports were available 2 weeks later. After I received the reports, I realize that I failed to properly characterize an addition that we put on the house 10 years ago. I emailed David and he was willing to go above and beyond to make changes for me. One last thing, afterwards, I emailed a general question about how the taxing authority might interpret one aspect of the reports. David wrote a one-page response (again, above and beyond!) listing possibilities without giving legal advice, but certainly answering my question to my satisfaction. All in all, a very responsive and professional encounter.

Pricing varies depending on the scope of work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we will discuss the challenge/problem that you are looking to have solved. I will ask clarifying questions to ensure that I can be of service and how best to provide that service.
Next, I will layout the options that I think make most sense given your challenge(s) as well as a timeframe and pricing.
If you decide to hire me I will be sure to communicate consistently and deliver in accordance with the timeframe I lay out.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Pennsylvania & New Jersey State Certified Real Estate Appraiser (SCREA) and have been working in the appraisal industry since 2012. I have completed hundreds of hours of qualifying and continuing education on a broad range of real estate related topics and also have more than a decade of experience in real estate acquisition, construction, renovation, management, and property disposition.
I also have experience providing valuation consulting services for homeowners, investors, agents, and attorneys.
