I’ve seen a few other psychologists before Dr. Laverne Duckworth, and I never felt as supported or understood as I do when talking with her. Not only does she help with things I struggle with and guide me in the right direction, she also makes sure I know I’m never alone. Also, her genuine kindness and positive energy definitely proves how much she truly cares and wants the best for me! I know I can always trust her with anything, and I know I will always receive honest, professional, and useful feedback when needed. In addition, if I don’t need feedback or advice, I love that she can laugh with me and support me when needed too. Overall, my experience could not be better!

I was struggling with the grief from the losing my parents within a few months of one another, and knew I needed help getting through it from someone with a focus in grief counseling. I'm so glad that someone is Laverne. She is extremely knowledgeable about grief, and shows genuine interest in and concern for me personally, doing additional research and study on the topic tailored to my situation specifically. She is very supportive, and lets me express what it is I need to express in a given session, without forcing our discussion into a rigid direction that might not be in my best interest at that time. At the same time, she challenges me to face things head-on and put the work into to move forward. I would highly recommend Laverne - she is an excellent counselor!
