My husband and I had gone down this road before on our own years ago. This time I looked on line for someone with experience and compassion. Bankruptcy is stressful and not something you don't want to do but sometimes necessary. Doug was understanding, helpful, and totally put us at ease. He responded to all our questions quickly. He really did make a bad situation SO much better and without the stress. I would recommend Hipp/Kaiser Attorneys at Law to anyone going through this difficult time. Don't do it alone, not when you can have Doug on your side helping you through it all and a a very reasonable fee. So worth it.

When I was searching for a lawyer and had questions, I came across numerous lawyers that wouldn't answer a single question without me paying at least 100 dollars. When I called Doug, he answered questions for me over the phone and met me half way between his office and my home. I have never felt more at peace with the entire process. He made it easy, doable and was punctual the entire process. I recommend him to everyone needing a lawyer.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing of services is highly dependent upon the type of matter involved. Bankruptcy cases are based on a flat fee determined by the type of bankruptcy filed, the number of assets, the amount of the debt and the complexity of the case. Generally a Chapter 7 case will cost about $1,100.00. For most criminal matters there is a set fee of $500.00 for each preliminary hearing and traffic violation hearing. For criminal summary appeals to Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas the price will be a set fee largely dependent upon the nature of the case and number of witness which need to be interviewed. For criminal trials in Common Please Court the price is usually based on an a retainer with an hourly rate of $150-$200 per hour. For Civil matters the fee is generally based on a retainer with an hourly rate of $125-$150/hr.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Talk to the client to get all the facts and determine what it is they wish to accomplish.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Admitted to all Pennsylvania courts all Washington D.C. courts and U.S. District Court, Western District of PA
