I place a strong emphasis on reading music. While I will take students of varied interests, I believe it is very important that a student learn not just how to play one song well, but be a well rounded musician.
I love that I get to bring someone forward in a skill. Seeing results and improvement is my favorite part of teaching music.

Jonathan is an excellent and relateable teacher for my teenage daughter, Kristina. She really enjoyed her lesson with him. He gives a comprehensive lesson and explains very clearly so that the lesson flys and seems effortless. It is clear he has a strong background in music education based on the different areas he covers in the lesson. I highy recommend him. He is calm, flexible, patient, has a nice sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable and he knows how to teach!!!!!!

Our daughter (6) started to learn to play the piano a few months ago. She loves her lessons and she is very comfortable with Jonathan. She is very happy when he comes to teach her. She improved a lot and her love for the piano increased. Jonathan is very patient and great with kids, also he is a very good teacher.

Although this rating is based on the relatively brief experience thus far of just one lengthy interview and a one-hour lesson, I have been extremely impressed with the manner in which he has handled the questions I have asked and the goals I have proposed, as well as his piano playing and personable approach to challenges encountered. I am a senior citizen and retired philosophy professor, playing piano at the immediate level.

Jonathan explained the difficult parts of music so I could understand it and then perform it well. He always critiqued my technique and skill and gave me great instruction. He was always kind and patient.
Under his teaching I received a perfect score in NYSSMA in third grade and a 27/28 this year in fourth grade!

Jonathan is both professional and down to earth he teaches in a way that anyone can be comfortable he is always on time and throughout the sessions compliments and motivates my daughter who is 6 he makes it fun for her where she gets excited for her next lesson. I am a single daddy of 2 amazing little girls trust me I am very picky cautious of what I bring around my daughter a good Christian and a a good Christian and a great teacher. I highly recommend him to people of any age
