We did come back, and we did what we were supposed to do. Before any work was done, we properly ground down the entire surface to prepare it and ensure we were working with a clean, sound base. We also made an effort to repair and stabilize the underlayment as much as possible before applying the finish, with the goal of helping keep costs down at the time since the priority was to avoid a full replacement. The issue was that the underlayment itself was in extremely poor condition. It was deteriorated, weak, and crumbling in areas. Even after grinding the entire surface and addressing the areas that needed attention, the condition of the underlying concrete and underlayment made it very difficult to achieve a long-term, stable result. We did not simply cover up existing problems. We followed the proper preparation steps, ground the surface, repaired the compromised areas to the best of our ability, and worked with the conditions that were present. In situations where the underlying material is already severely deteriorated, there are natural limitations to what can be achieved with surface repair alone. We stand by the work we performed and the effort we made to properly prepare and address the condition of the concrete and underlayment when we returned. At this point, we just want to close this out on a professional note and move forward. We believe everything was handled in good faith and to a professional standard, and there are no hard feelings on our end.
