Always compare Apples with Apples. Make sure that A.) the persons doing the work have design degrees or have an adequate education in design. There are many people out there that hunt and pick off Cd Roms and think because they have photoshop they are a designer. Because someone can place text somewhere doesn't mean it is correct. It is mathematical!!! There are lots of variables, weights and contrasts that make graphics work or fail. Visual weight and negative space make or break a design. Why spend the money if it is hard to read. When it comes to production make sure they have high-tech equipment take a look around their shop. If they say no they are hiding something. Firms who take pride in their work like to share it. It is called pride. Something many companies fail to remember these days .
