In a nut shell, a year ago I had come out of the hospital with part of my foot missing. I wasnt allowed to put weight on my left foot for 3 months so a wheel chair ramp was of paramount importance. The Critchfields had been close friends of the family for generations, and knowing Matt had a light construction company I gave him a call figuring it would be too long untill he could get me in but when I explained my situation he said allow me to call the customer he was working with if he could skip a half day to handle an emergency. He called back and said he'd be there by 08:00 AM the next morning (and it was a Saturday). True to his word he was there by 08:00 and by noon I had a very nice wheelchair ramp installed at my front door, with anti slip materials that he had in his truck. Since that first job I have used him several times and Ive never had a complaint. Im still not completely healed from my hospital stay so wether it's to screw in a light bulb or repair a foundation, if i can't do it I call Matt! Two last thoughts, if it is not within his level of expertise he will tell you and turn the job down. Second, though I havnt hired him for masonary i have seen his finished work and I was taken back by his knowledge and workmanship. Thanks Matt for all your hard work! Sincerely John Pscherer

Matt stepped in to finish my masonry project with short notice and late in the season after another contractor started and then choose not to finish the job because it was “too difficult”. The work still looks great today and I have used Matt on various projects since!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As soon as I get payment for half the total estimated amount then I proceed. I then get the remaining balance upon completion of project.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was subcontracting off of a masonry company where everything was going well and then…. Covid came and they were forced to shut down so I went from a stone mason to doing anything that paid the bills. After that I just never looked back.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I did a stone pizza oven for an outdoor patio. It turned out spectacular and it took me 6 weeks to complete the project!
