Larry and Tommy are an endearing father-son team. Larry brings 30+ years of experience and is extremely meticulous (you'll hear him call for a "discount doooooooouble-check" throughout the day). Tommy is creative, equally hard-working, and helps bring your vision to fruition. The quality of work was impeccable. We were looking to reframe/drywall the first floor of a row home including the ceiling. Larry suggested a metal-frame for the ceiling that saved us space and gave us an incredibly level finish. They listened to me and made sure they understood what I wanted in the design. They provided suggestions and ideas that made it even better but still left the decisions to incorporate those ideas to me. Larry and Tommy were extremely efficient with their work. The contractors (drywallers) caused delays which frustrated Larry more than myself, which I respected. He was there for each step and checked over the contractors work to make sure it was up to his standards. The estimate we received from Alter was not the lowest bid but neither was it overpriced. The quality of work was well beyond anything we could have hoped for and certainly beyond the cost of the project. These two were a pleasure to work with and I felt very comfortable with them. They make you feel like you are a part of their family. Their stories are great and so are their jokes!

We knew right away while getting estimates from Larry and Tom on our new house that we wanted them for the job. They're not only extremely knowledgeable, but are really just fun to be around. They're great on customer service with their speedy replies and friendly updates. You really get a sense that they love what they do. They finished our project (floor joists installation in the basement, HVAC duct repair, window replacements) sooner than we'd expected and at the exact amount quoted. We were so happy with them that we've already requested additional future projects. The only negative thing we'd have to add is that our experience with them was so excellent that sadly, the bar has been set pretty high for any other contractor! If only other companies were as easy to work with =)

I was so happy with the first job Larry did for me (recording booth) that I hired him to do a major renovation in the basement. No regrets. He took time to get things done right and kept me in the loop throughout the process. I appreciated being able to give him my key and trust him in my house while I was away. Construction projects usually stress me out, but with Larry and his excellent helpers here, I had nothing to worry about!

Father and son team, they displayed an organized approach to the job. The father is a well seasoned professional who displays pride in his work and is promotes quality assurance through the help of his apprentice..they did a excellent job.

We usually need to see the job to give an honest quote.Beware of quotes when the job isn't even looked at.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Listen to the customer and treat their job as if I were doing it in my own home. We treat every job with TLC .We have never had a dissatisfied client yet .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Larry over 30 years as a carpenter and Tommy has 7 years working with me , his Dad .
