- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I listen closely to gain clarity about the request. I write down the criteria as described then I ask additional questions to make sure I am clear on the specifics. For example, When I get a request for a logo, I create the first drafts which demonstrate my ideas for a variety of potential approaches. These drafts are shared with the client for feedback which I use for revisions or as input for the redesign phase. I share revisions until the client is satisfied with the results. My aim is to create a product that matches the customer’s vision.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Requests from family members initially got me started making flyers for family events and trips. This lead to me responding to various needs that arose for friends and in the workplace. As a result, I have produced business cards, signs and brochures for start-ups, death announcements and funeral programs, and a variety of text and graphic products.
