Introduction: My name is Jazzmyn Maughan. I am recently married and graduated from college. I am currently working at Conestoga Animal Hospital. I have always loved nature and all of God's creatures. I have lived with pets all my life: cats, dogs, fish, the occasional frog, hamsters, and even a snake at one point. I never owned any farm animals but always loved to visit friends who owned horses, pigs or goats. Although I do love all of God's creatures, dogs have always been my main passion. I have always enjoyed going on hikes or playing catch in the backyard. The canine has always been a big part of who I am and how I see the world. As I grew up and began searching for a career, I always knew I wanted to do something with animals, dogs specifically -- if at all possible. I also knew I loved helping people. Dog training or animal training in general seemed to me to be the perfect fit. Now practically, this didn't seem entirely likely, but it was my BHAG as my dad always called it: my Big Haunkin Audacious Goal. I went to school for biology with a specification in animal behavior. This BHAG of mine still seemed way out of reach until my new one-year-old puppy called for more specific research and attention, leading me to dog training in London's YouTube channel. Everything changed. I had a new inspiration. Somewhere to start, my journey now had a path. I started doing more research on how to train dogs, and my new one-year-old puppy is helping me learn what works and what doesn't. I bought books to help me better understand how the canine brain worked and how they interacted socially and with their surroundings. I look forward to moving forward in putting together the two things in life I've always wanted to do: helping others and helping animals. Prancing Paws specializes in dogs, however I am always up for a challenge in working with other animals as well.
